Color Quantization in Music Videos

What are the primary colors in a music clip, and how do those colors change over time? To answer that question I analyzed some music videos. I extracted the colors of each of their frames and grouped them according to their perceived similarity. The plot of this data shows how the colors change over time.

Each row in the visualization is a minute of the video, the x axis is time, and the y axis is how much each color is present at that time of the video.
